Color is Energy. Energy is Healing.
Welcome to Breuchkelen — where bold creativity meets soulful intention.
Let's Talk Breuchkelen
Breuchkelen Eclectic, created by Meeks, curates unique home décor accents — planters, vases, light switches, outlet covers, lampshades — each designed to elevate energy, shift vibration, and bring soulful intention into your space.
As a lifelong believer in second chances, 30% of our creations are upcycled — because giving materials new life often yields the most beautiful outcomes.

Growing up in a bustling home with limited resources, I became a pro at mixing prints and colors that others told me didn’t “go.” But for me, they always did. That playful experimentation was the start of a creative journey — one that taught me confidence in color and pattern.
Fast forward to 2017: I painted my first flower pot to lift the energy in my home. That small act shifted how I felt in the space — calm, hopeful, aligned. It sparked a desire to bring that same shift to homes beyond my own.
From Childhood Creativity to Artistic Calling
Color in the Classroom to Color in the Home

Before “Brooklyn” became Brooklyn, it was Breukelen — “broken land.” I added the “ch” to emphasize the hard ‘k’ sound, a nod to the terse resilience that defines our borough. That same spirit lives in every vibrant, soulful piece I create.

Why Breuchkelen?

As a teacher, I saw a classroom transform when I introduced intentional color. Behavior improved, academic focus deepened — the environment truly affected the energy of the students. That experience taught me something vital: our surroundings matter.
That lesson followed me into designing. My décor journey felt like a natural extension of healing through space.

Before Brooklyn was spelled the way it is today, it was spelled Breukelen, which means “broken land.” Because Brooklyn has been synonymous for going hard and being tenacious , the "ch" sound in Breuchkelen is used to represent and emphasize the sound of the letter "K."
The Creative Process
Everything matters when creating, from wearing a color that makes me happy, to my jewelry selection to my bright lipstick choice. I may break out in prayer, meditation, yoga, or dance, it all depends on my mood. After about 20 minutes or so, I am charged and ready to channel my positive energy into my pieces. Stopping periodically to walk away and come back to see things from a different point of view really helps me to stay creative. The pieces set for a day or two to fully dry and I create a painting mood all over again.
